SMU WBB Calls It Quits for the Season

Post by TU77CAL82 »

Due to health/Covid concerns. Also, they haven't won a game, but I'm sure that has nothing to do with it.

If they are doing this primarily or even 50% for COVID reasons, good for them. I wish every team would follow suit.

But one rumor I'm hearing from SMU fans is that this might have been orchestrated by the coach. He's had four losing seasons and supposedly was told in no uncertain terms a 5th would be his last. Supposedly he's popular with the players, and when they started out 0-6 they decided to try to "Cancel" this season to protect him.

If there is even a grain of truth it'll come out, and it'll seal his fate even more than a 5th losing season would have.

Unless it was completely orchestrated by the team without his knowledge because they love him, in which case it probably makes it a bit harder for the school to fire him.
