Not going to get into the Kap debate, but there will be over reaction over this. THe bottom line, neither is a very good QB. I get the Gase-Cutler connection, but to lure him out of the booth over say RG3, never mind Kap. smacks of desparation.
The Dolphins will be 6-10 if Cutler starts most of the games. Even the Saints D now has to be licking its chops for the London game.

Re: Dolphins sign Cutler
The Dolphins will probably still light up the Saints with Cutler. Even he can get the ball to Landry, Parker, Stills, Thomas, Ajayi against the Saints defense. I say 8-8, but that's just because they get the Jets and Bills 4 times total.
Re: Dolphins sign Cutler
Forget Cutler, RG III or Kap the Dolphins have a better chance of winning with Matt Moore. They wasted $10 million on a QB that is way past his prime and an injury waiting to happen.
Cutler couldn't win with Forte, Marshall, Jeffrey and Bennett. Why would this be different several years later.

Re: Dolphins sign Cutler
Warriors and Spurs excepted, the NBA is still a players league and $10 million later for a Fox analyst wannabe, the NFL is still a quarterbacks league. I bet the rumor is true that Miami was thinking about Tebow.

No way Kap could ever play in Miami considering his affinity for Fidel. Talk about alienating the fan base.

Cutler had arguably his best year with Gase as his OC.NJwave wrote:Forget Cutler, RG III or Kap the Dolphins have a better chance of winning with Matt Moore. They wasted $10 million on a QB that is way past his prime and an injury waiting to happen.

I know these aren't scientific, but with Tannehill out, there has been talk about Kap on twitter and in the media. Miami Herald's Dolphins' reporter put a poll on twitter and 74% wanted Kap for the Dolphins. The Palm Beach Post had a similar poll as did the Ft. Lauderdale paper and had similar results. Cuban-Americans might make up the majority in Dade County (Miami), but in the tri-county area, where Dolphins' fans come from, it's not majority Cuban, and I think most want the best QB.wave-em in wrote:No way Kap could ever play in Miami considering his affinity for Fidel. Can circus acts win? Sometimes. Just look at the Yankees and the Bronx Zoo teams. Your math may be right as to the overall composition of Dolphin fans but it ignores the reality of the impact of the intensity sure to be felt by a noticeable minority. Your job is to play football. How well do you think you will do it when 98% of the questions and attention as a Kep teammate in Miami would have been about Fidel, Raoul, Che, Trump, Maduro and Frances Scott Key? Meanwhile that fervent anti-Communist minority keeps everyone in a lather 24/7 since Kep as the QB and putative team leader will keep everyone's attention as soon as team loses one game.FW wrote:I know these aren't scientific, but with Tannehill out, there has been talk about Kap on twitter and in the media. In short Kep politicized his job. Free country. Fair enough. He can do as he pleases. His preferred style doesn't succeed in almost any work environment not just football. No one should be surprised that for a team that wants to win that he is now seen as radioactive, least of all he.

Cutler played the Saints 3 times as a Bear...and didn't crack 20 points in any of those games.FW wrote:The Dolphins will probably still light up the Saints with Cutler. Re: Dolphins sign Cutler
In professional sports, fans just care about winning. Lawrence Taylor is the scum of the earth, but most Giants fans could care less. He is an all time great. Michael Vick signed a huge contract and was cheered when he produced in Philadelphia. Look at all the players with domestic violence issues, gun issues and drug issues in the NFL. As long as they can play, they normally get signed. Without a video, the public outcry would have been less and Ray Rice would have been back in the NFL.
The fact is most Dolphins fans would cheer Kaepernick if they won and boo Mother Theresa is she didn't have a good arm.

Tell that to Lawrence Phillips. Or Lance Rentzel.NJwave wrote:In professional sports, fans just care about winning. Lawrence Taylor is the scum of the earth, but most Giants fans could care less. And for the record, I would take Kap over Cutler. Both are terrible, but Kap has more upside and can be a decent QB with the right coaching and support around him.
Cutler is nothing but a turnover machine -and a true cancer in the locker room - political beliefs not needed.
