Biggest disappointing team in CFB in 2017?
I'm going to stay in the Big 12 and pick Oklahoma. Bob Stoops might have gotten the ironic nickname of Big Game Bob later in his career but he was an unquestionably steady hand who left suddenly. I also think that they have too ambitious a non-con game vs. Ohio State who is at another level from them at the moment (and still has their established head coach). They're losing that one and I don't see how not. I also think the Big 12 is filled with dangerous teams from #2 to #7, which makes for a very eventful first year for Lincoln Riley (I omit Texas Tech, Kansas, and Iowa State). I think K-State will be tough and so will Texas, West Virginia (could blow up with their new QB), Ok State, and TCU and possibly also a more stable Baylor.
LSU and Florida are my runners-up. LSU has 5 SEC road games, a thin OL, and not much at WR. They do have a very good defense on paper. Florida is primed to disappoint until they get a solid QB.
who do you pick?

I'll go with Florida - too many off-season distractions; and LSU - tough league and mediocre coach. I would say Arizona, but they are not picked to do anything, therefore, they cannot be a "big" disappointment.

Tennessee, Michigan, and Florida all end the season un ranked. Hot take!

Can Kansas be considered disappointing? Down 38-27 @ home vs C Michigan in the 4th quarter. That's not the good Directional Michigan school either I understand.

There are a couple of AAC teams that are racing for the bottom. ECU may not win a game all year.

Temple beat Villanova 16-13. Ex coach Ruhle is down 14-7 at home against UTSA late third.

It's still early but I was looking at scores today and thinking this might be an overall down year for the AAC. And that could be massively understating it.greenguy wrote:There are a couple of AAC teams that are racing for the bottom. ECU may not win a game all year.

17-7 UTSA mid 4th.
I'm so old I can remember when that would be the Baylor score with 10:00 left in the first quarter.

Tennessee and Florida already have shown they stink as much as I thought. Michigan is still in, but after their loss to Michigan State, who knows how they finish out. 2/3 ain't bad, and 3/3 is still possible.WaveProf wrote:Tennessee, Michigan, and Florida all end the season un ranked. Hot take!
