Well the rent-a-win games are not to be found this week. Nebraska says "thank you very much". There are 4 pretty good matchups this weekend, three of which are battles of 3-0 teams. USC @ Cal, Mississippi St @ Georgia, Penn St @ Iowa. The other interesting game IMO is Duke @ North Carolina, in a "I wish this were basketball season" game. USC @ Cal is one I will keep tabs on. Which (non Tulane) game will be your must watch game this weekend?

Tcu vs ok st should tell us if the Cowboys are for real. I think there's a good chance the heisman winner comes from the state of Oklahoma this year.

CBS has to be kicking themselves and wishing for a do-over as far as scheduling their game of the week. Yeah, Vandy just beat K-State and is 3-0 but Miss State-Georgia is the best matchup by far. CBS has to be kicking themselves in general as far as the quality of the SEC so far: Bama and the Eleven Dwarves and the less said about Ole Miss and Missouri the better.

So you don't think Vandy is for real?

For real as in their game vs Alabama is a better match-up than MSU-UGA? No.

Syracuse has been playing good defense this year. Be interesting if they can hang with lsu who is playing without Guice.

30 in a loss to Middle Tennessee, 17 to Cen. Michigan, and 7 to a one-dub is not near enough to go on.

I was listening to one of the "experts" and they made it sound like their defense was "so much better than last year" and made it sound like teams were struggling to run against them. Maybe their run defense has gotten better but not overall.

Btw, Guice is now available for Saturday. As bad as lsu looks this year, the sec looks even worse. They'll end up second in the sec West (don't see them beating Alabama).

Want to bet? MS ST looks like the second best team in the SEC West right now, maybe the SEC as a whole.

UCF picks up another P5 pelt for the AAC with a win over Maryland.

Meanwhile, anybody still think Vandy might be for real? 58-0 Alabama early in the 4th.

Big win for TCU. That shuffles the Big 12 pecking order around.

AF and SDSU are still playing after a 90 minute weather delay. I would reasonably guess there are about 50 folks left in the stands. It must be something about the service academies as that's all that lasted for the all-nighter between Navy and FAU.

Meanwhile I'm not happy about Tulane's attendance today. However with LSU only leading by two points in the fourth quarter, I would guess conservatively at least 40% of the crowd had left and maybe it was more than half. The CFB fan attention span and dedication is well as durable as a Snapchat.
