Was Hugh Freeze seriously interested in the lsu OC job?

Post by waverider »

lsu officially promoted Ensminger(sp?) as their OC today. In the past week, I’ve heard 3 different local radio shows say that Hugh Freeze was very interested in the OC job at lsu. This Ensminger promotion will hurt them, especially if the fan base thinks they could have had Freeze.

If the Miles debacle a couple years ago wasn’t enough, they make a big ordeal over getting Matt Canada, they don’t recruit the players needed to run his offense, running off the QB who could probably do it, then let him go after 1 season. On top of that, they had to pay Aranda, their DC, a ton of money because he’s the only reason fans still show up to their games.

I heard Freeze was being considered for the UA job. Just doesn't seem right to consider a Freeze for the desert, nor does it seem right to consider a Freeze after a RichRod, given their recent histories.

It would be cool if Freeze were HC at some really northern clime. Like Minnesota or somesuch.

It’s kind of like the meterologist we had in Philly with a last name of Storm. Endless possibilities.

He could come to here to MN and change his name to Huge Freeze and be in vogue more than half the year!

A show cause penalty should cover coordinator and position coach spots as well.. and he should have gotten a 10 year show cause, not 1

Agreed...and I can't imagine LSU gave him much/any consideration...hard to believe he'd be able to land in a high profile spot so soon.
