Well Pete tonite ..... # 8 Xavier & # 9 Cincy. both play tonite at home. Amazing for a city (not state) to have that much talent. Also OSU is ranked as well.

This is a college basketball area in the same way the southeast is a college football area. Cincinnati is smack in the geographic middle of three hotbed states. The peak was a few years ago (2012) when the "tri-state area" had 9 of the Sweet 16: Xavier, Cincinnati, Ohio State, Ohio U., Indiana, Kentucky, Purdue, Louisville, and Murray State. And Dayton and Butler are typically good as well.

Xavier up to 4, Cincinnati up to 5. And a 2.5 hour drive to Purdue at 6, 2 hours to Ohio State at 8.

Meanwhile, unranked Northern Kentucky (they of the recent move to D1, and having beaten one of our teams in the Conroy era, but not to be confused with Cedarville) currently sits atop the Horizon League. Cincinnati is playing in their arena this year while theirs is renovated, so there are two teams playing in the same venue which both lead their leagues.
