Tom Benson dead at 90

I think we can say he was a friend to Tulane and not an LSU homer.

In my mind, completely made up for the blunder after Katrina.

I'm guessing a lot of his late in life charitable ways were really a result of Gayle/his declined mental state...though it's possible that he changed his stripes.

Well documented. Read Jeff Duncan's (long and well-written) article posted yesterday. And nothing wrong with that. But also remember his roots and considerably tragic life. Put it all together, wake up at 70-something and realize, there's a lot better I can do with all this money then leave it to an undeserving, ungrateful kid.
