Mississippi State Job Ramifications

Post by tjtlja »

In a bit of a shocker, Chris Lemonis was named head coach of Mississippi State today. Jake will stay on as an assistant.

The Indiana job is now open. I wonder if Jewett has any interest or vice versa.

Any idea why they didn't hire the interim coach that took them within one game of playing for a national title? Reading an article online, he was interested in the job.

Michigan was smart enough to offer their job (eventually) to Steve Fisher after their miracle run with Glen Rice. It's the only thing I can equate it to.

I’m guessing they took his stint at Kentucky into account, but I really don’t know. .565 over 8 seasons, .439 in conference.

I thought Tulane news was alright on the main board.

Nevertheless, Jewett was mentioned for the IU job when Tracy Smith left for Arizona State. I saw where he is being mentioned again on the goTulane site. Long shot, but the Lemonis hiring makes you believe anything could happen.

Kind of like how the Koch brothers and George Mason U was an AAC topic

Bring back this post in about a year, titjla. I suspect it will have a lot of Tulane relevance at that time.
