Soft.

I'm not going to say it was fun to play in negative wind chill and a frozen field that needed the yard lines plowed, but it build character

It’s cold pretty much everywhere north. Football playoffs are still underway most places and Thanksgiving games are a tradition in many plays. Put on a layer.

None of the big time rivalry games were moved.

I don't know that I've watched a near whiteout football game in 75" HD before. It's kinda overwhelming on the senses!

My son's game in So. CT was moved from Thursday morning to Wednesday night for the same cold snap. So much for that. By game's end, my feet were numb, felt like I was walking on stumps and I was shivering uncontrollably. No, I am not a native New Englander, but I was not alone in complaining as many natives were commenting they'd wish the game would just end!

Call me soft all you want.... :|

You boys need to experience kid hockey outdoors in Minnesota. Parents bring a cardboard box and scrap of carpet to stand on. It really makes a nice difference. Once the temperature gets below -10 F the matches are called.

I was just a kid in the early 50's, but I went to our high school's state championship game in north Louisiana, where everyone was covered in blankets and big bonfires were going in each end zone. It was the coldest I had ever been. That was later topped by a playoff game we had with Neville in Monroe when temps were below 15 degrees. That field was as hard as concrete, my hands and feet were numb the whole game. We lost, by the way.
