Stop bunting!

Yankees’ minor leaguer receives death threats after his bunt breaks up no-hitter

How far outside the path do you have to go before you're considered outside the path or interfering?

Combined no hitters are dumb. And they were only down 3. When should the team that's down just give up?

His path had no effect on the play.

Maybe just like that football article about 4th down Fritz and punting, should we ask stat geeks to do a "Surrender Index" for bunting too?

Channel flipping during one of the Super Regionals yesterday, the announcers openly speculated that the HC was not calling for a bunt in a very close game because the player perhaps literally did not have the skill to execute it.

I'm pretty sure the SABR guys have had that for a few decades now.

I wonder what the surrender index would say when you are down 7-0 against the #1 seed in the 7th inning of a CWS elimination game. :-(
