Just saw this headline and couldn't help but think, "wow, even teams like Oklahoma sometimes do stuff that Tulane patented in the 2000s".

Punting on 4th and goal... from the 44.

Putting it here because it's against Kansas and I didn't think it worth an entire thread.

Someone: I bet you can't turn this drive into an Eric Price level disaster.
Oklahoma: hold my beer!

La Tech wound up facing 3rd and 93 a couple years ago after fumbling at the Miss St 6 and finally recovering on their own 7. They wound up punting too.

BTW, Miles fired his OC already.

As hard as our loss sucked last night. The way texas tech handed Kansas a win last night was unreal (blocked game winning fg attempt.. guy tried running it back..lateralled to nobody, Kansas recovers and kicks a chip shot to win)

Although now a little stale, the details here matter. P5 schools have so much money lying around they can overpopulate their staffs with "analysts" who don't count against NCAA coaching limits and can then step up to be coaches at schedule and whim of HC. It didn't phase Miles to pay a fired OC $1 million mid-season to leave and call up a replacement from the back office. Saban didn't miss a beat replacing Kiffin with Sarkisian a couple of years ago. (Remember Fritz had to wait until season end to replace Ruse and then had to reassign a (departing) assistant coach to be OC for the bowl game.)

Heard about it last night and made a mental note to check it out today so of course I forgot. Glad you reminded me. Even if he thought he had a teammate behind him, why pitch it anyway? Game was tied. Go as far as you can, if it’s not enough to score go to OT. Was he a freshman?

Hadn’t considered that. It might not be his fault.
