A couple of things on that article..

1) He says they gifted us 14 points off turnovers. The first seven did involve a 70 yard drive.

2) ‘If FIU got a TD after the Bardwell fumble’ they’d have gone into half down 7 and getting the ball.
I guess that’s consistent with the first point, but I don’t think it gets magically easier to drive the length of the field after a turnover.

I agree. I tend to discount points off of turnover when the resulting drive is still 60+ yards. Grey area for me is 50-60.

"Points off of turnover" should be a stat that is only active when the ball is turned over on one own side of the field.

Points off Turnover should be a stat for points scored FROM the turnover, ie interception or fumble returned for a TD or a safety (because the team causing the safety gets the ball after the play means it's technically a turnover)

Points after a turnover should be on a drive that started after a turnover because honestly, most times it's no different than if the other team punted with the obvious exception it happens at least 1 play sooner than the team turning the ball over had hoped!!

Ah, is that what that was?
Kent State at No. 8 Auburn (-35)
7 p.m., ESPN2
Auburn quarterback Bo Nix will have his way against a defense that has allowed 200-plus against the rush and pass this season. The Tigers will be a little sharper after an emotional letdown against Tulane; this is the game where Auburn pours it on.
Auburns wins 49-10 and COVERS the spread.

At the risk of downplaying our defensive effort, Nix is not good.

I think Nix is good for a true freshman. He'll get better this year and next.
The gap between the top of the big leagues and their bottom is now bigger than the gap between their bottom and us - P.R. told me to do this

Yeah, not writing him off forever, but he didn't scare me one iota Saturday.

Nor me. When he led the comeback against UO (with a lot Duck help) I predicted then he'd get a lot better right up to the point where he stops, like Aaron Murray or Jake Browning.

1. Good gracious that poll makes me soooooo thankful to not be in CUSA anymore.
2. How is UConn not in that list? Regardless, not sad only one AAC team in there.
3. Georgia Tech... Ouch, man.
4. Everyone who thought we should replace UConn with UMass... See this list. No.

There's a new upstart school called "Louisiana;" seemingly came out of no where. Rivalry possiblity? Someone should explore this more.

I think what would be more hurtful than making fun of them would be to ignore them completely.

Yeah, this could also go on the future opponents thread, with ECU at 21. USF was #3 last week but rose all the way out.
