You know this was an interesting article but it really could have done without the snark at the beginning about how there's no demand for bowls like this. There clearly is demand and there are people that watch this game every year supporting their team or just enjoying the last bits of college football for the year. Bowls like these mean that players who wouldn't otherwise get a postseason experience have access to that which is also a good thing. Who is legitimately hurt by the existence of the New Mexico Bowl? Since the answer is no one it seems ridiculous to me to go out of the way to put it down.

the ESPN department that runs their bowl games is here in Charlotte... I will keep my eye out for a job opening in their Event Marketing staff. The person who signed the deal should have asked for a check to hold the spot, right? I know when I sold stuff, if they didn't have credit approved, they needed to hand over a check before any production began. ESPN had to have gone to work on signage and other premiums for this game by now.. it's almost November.
