Vandy pitcher throws another* no hitter

Post by waverider »

Sophomore Jack Leiter faced 28 batters and retired the final 27 he faced (in what I thought they said was his SEC debut) striking out 16 Côcks as Vandy tops So Carolina. He walked the first batter of the game so no perfect game. First time S Carolina has been no hit since 1990.

Thanks to an AA tweet I turned it on to see the 9th.

Yes, he's a sophomore and they didn't play any conference games last year.

That’s what I figured.

Had a no hitter through 7 innings tonight and was pulled. He had 101 pitches and Vandy was up 11-0 over Missouri.

They had a combined no hitter through 8.2 innings then allowed a hit, an error and a 3 run HR.

Vandy’s Friday and Saturday starters have no hitters in each of their last two starts. Maybe we hired the wrong Vandy assistant.
