Zabel slipped and fell twice -- and another run scores

YIKES!

Come on ZIZ!

Anyone thinking we should have left Flynn in to go for the complete game shut out?

I would have put in Preston or Pep just to close the deal

Especially with the conditions. Flynn alread wet and in a grove. Bring someone new out there, they need to get used to the conditions.

Ground out to 1st base on 3-2 count with the tying run at the plate ends the game. This one belongs to the Wave. 7-4 final.

Nah. With a 7-run lead, we had room to get some work for Fury. He had a bad outing over the weekend, so it was an opportunity for him to get settled down. Unfortunately, Seggy's E on the lead-off ground ball probably rattled him a little. He's a freshman. Gotta keep giving him some chances to see some success. If Ziz hadn't gotten Wilson, I'm confident that Pep would have come in and doused the fire.

When it's still cool, you don't want to throw away an arm by working it too hard without ever getting fully warmed up... Flynn will give us some CGs this season, once it gets a little warmer.

Sounds good to me...

I didn't know if it was one of those things where you let your Friday Night guy get a complete game/shut out under his belt.

Is Pep or closer?

I haven't been able to follow as closely since I left the city...

For now, I think Pep's the closer. Once Seggy get's fully healed, I think he may ressurect that role, which he filled during his Freshman year. I think Jones is looking for Seggy to take the mound in a few more weeks.

Jones makes me nervous leaving these struggling pitchers in at the end of a game. We let this one get too close. The error didn't obviously didn't help though. Alls well that ends well.

Canada up 2 -0 after the 1st period. Looks like a rematch Sunday.

Why is Canada always in primetime and the US plays at 2 in the afternoon?

Because the #1 seed (and home team) always gets prime time?

US was the #1 seed. Canada was like #6 or something. But, it's probably because they are the "home" team.

were the teams "seeded" before the medal round started? I know the USA was seeded #1 going into the medal round b/c they were the best team in pool play - right?

I think they had a "random" draw to see who was in each group, but teams like Latvia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Switzerland, Norway, etc. had to qualify just to make the Olympics, while the "big dogs" were guaranteed a spot.
