I don't think Walter Matthau is coming to save us and end it early.

Well -- when you get lemons -- go make some lemonade
This is a game to test out the rest of the pitching arms -- etc...

Well...I am going to dig deep in my own past for this one. I was the catcher for my high school team for a game on the road once...and we led after 7 innings, 14-0. We wound up losing 21-14.

After that...I got nothing else to go on.

See -- you just never know
Getting out of this inning would be nice -- why do bad innings last forever?

You are way too nice, Milford. For tonight at least, the wheels have fallen off of the wagon, we have porked the pooch, not gotten off of the bus.

Good thing it only counts as 1. My concern is for the team psyche, if left unchecked, these things have a way of snowballing.

The last few years we have not been recruiting the caliber player we did from 99 to 04. Then Katrina, just has not been the same. No power, other then Schaffer, no speed, other than Bullosa, with decent starting pitching. I am afraid of a complete meltdown.....yea yea I know it is still early, but no fire or urgency on this team. Too many small bodies. I can tell you I am worried about this team.

This sort of postmortem is early, but this is a scary start. Don't forget the rules changes on schollies. If we don't right the ship this season, and if there is no prospect of changing the rules back to what they were, it may be time to ask questions about allocation of available dollars for this program.

Thank God we scored.
