Re: UCSB Game One
Finally, somebody put aluminum on cowhide. A. Owen drove the ball to left-center, but Jew ran it down just short of the warning track. I hope that bodes a change for out batters.
Raj threw more than 30 pitches in the 5th inning.

Re: UCSB Game One
Even without the iffy strike zone they'd still be dominating us. We just have to hope they didn't clone this guy for the next 2 games.Yankeewave wrote:They kook better

Re: UCSB Game One
Raj came more inside and got the K on 4 pitches (2 fouls and 2 swings). Then he hits the next batter on an 0-1 count. Ump is allowing them to get away with sticking their elbows out to get hit.

Re: UCSB Game One
Jensen had already decided, before the 2-strike pitch, that he was going to swing, so when the ball came straight at his head, all he could do was screw himself into the ground.

Using my half-full glass as a crystal ball, I'm thinking we can still sweep this weekend.Yankeewave wrote:we have ex-amount of good series this year, need to win some

Re: UCSB Game One
Not sure why we went to Raj down by 5 runs.
Not a lot of guys that we trust more than him out of the bullpen, might need him in game 2 or 3 and now we wasted him.

Re: UCSB Game One
I don't think that a batter should be awarded 1st base when he's hit on the elbow pad. Should just be a ball. It's hard for the Ump to detect a subtle move to stick out an elbow, and with protection, many players are making it a standard practice.
