Tough ask for a freshman catcher in his first start to be catching guys he probably has not worked with a ton. For the most part he has acquitted himself well.

is Frankie Niemann injured or not on the team anymore?

McDonald is the senior transfer from Texas Tech who has battled through some injuries. Very talented kid. Good to see him get his first action in awhile.

What did I say that was wrong with regards to the coaching?
MIght I suggest:

Frankie is bummed up right now. And catching your first 20 games is an experience. The kid has played well. Has 3 hits in his first game.

4th year coach is fair game. Come on roller. Did you agree with Devito over Johnson given the situation.

I have not attended a single practice, so I don't know the relative merits of various players. And I am not so arrogant as to substitute MY judgment over that of the coaches unless the move is so OBVIOUSLY boneheaded as to warrant derision and scorn.

We would be going nuts if this was our pitcher and nobody was in the pen.

These umps are terrible. No control of the game at all and very indecisive.

Why didn't they just go look at it without all the discussions?

This should stand. Too close.

I wish we had a replay, since I looked away. However, the La-L guy unquestionably leaned in. At worst, they owe us a"make-up" call.

They need to call it consistently. This is much less egregious than the ULL batter.

Sure seemed like Chase’s natural stride. Also he’s not wearing the guard so who would’ve crazy enough ...but

This is painful. Make a decision either way already.

I think they found the beer supply and were enjoying a nice cold one.
