And it leads to the tying run on the subsequent double.

We executed the strangest 1-6 double play you’ll see today

Groff just demonstrated how poor umpiring affects play...
The first pitch was about 6 inches outside, and the ump called it a strike. The next pitch was in the same spot, so Groff lunged at it, caught it off the tip of the bat, and dribbled it back to the mound. Easy out.

And the offense doesn’t appear to be anything special either, going to be tough to win with that combination

This is going to turn in the Coach Scelfo rhetoric from post-2005.

We'll get reminded ad nauseam as we get later in this season about how unfortunate it was that COVID canceled the 2020 season instead of taking accountability for the performance between the lines on 2021 - just like Scelfo did and continues to do when asked about post-Katrina results and saying how "we would have been such a powerhouse in 2005 without Katrina".

Hey, we are actually winning. Just have to keep getting better. The lineup will keep evolving as players get healthy and guys get use to playing at this level. We are winning and it sounds like we are getting killed. I think we can agree that our offense has answered the challenge when we have given up runs. Four of our five losses have been in the oppositions last at-bat. Let’s just win and some of this sloppy play will improve.

Yea, I’m already prepared for that but I don’t want to hear it. Even if we went to a Regional last year, 1 Regional in 5 years isn’t good enough.

Someone keep a pitch count on how many times AA says “for what/whatever it’s worth” he’s giving Jewett’s “so to speak” a run for it’s money
