NJ, I agree with you about the freshman. We have some very good hitters. The pitching is a bigger problem. Can’t win without pitching. And hopefully some of these young hitters don’t hit the portal. Kids like Burns and Lee could play a lot at other schools that have passed us by.

When Benoit throws like this we have 4 good starting pitchers. We should not be in need of this game to be .500.

4? I Think 3 at most. Hoffman and Olthoff are good. Aldrich is a considerable step below them but he’s not bad. Our 4th starter is Johnson, he’s been terrible, ERA is almost 7

If Aldrich pitches like he did today he’s 2nd or 3rd best. The problem is that they have all been inconsistent to really say one is better than the others.

If he faces Memphis every week he might be able to do this every week. They were hitting .235 as a team coming into the day

We would be pretty good if we only played Memphis every week! I’d still take Aldrich over Hoffman, Benoit and anyone not named Olthoff.

Hoffman has been good, but again, he’s faced midweek teams that aren’t much better than Memphis with the exception of Southeastern who we lost to.
