AAC Tournament Game Opener vs Houston

Post by QuarterbackU »

ECU and Cinci both head to their respective loser brackets (one will be going home tomorrow).

This thing is wide open. Let’s win it!

Trent with a good job in the first. Gasser has great stuff. Retires the side easily.

It appears that Tulane managed to get quite a few fans into the stands--it's just a "smattering," I realize, but there is a decent group for early in a championship series -- especially considering the pessimistic ennui that surrounded the program in the wake of the Cincy series.

Need to work up Gasser’s pitch count. He looks unhittable.

You would think that ESPN would use the home team announcer's feed, at least.

To the third no hits for either side.

Niemann hit one to the track. Ball not carrying like earlier today.

If Tulane hitters can’t lay off of the slider down and out of the strike zone it will be a very long day.

Why? Aren’t these guys neutral?

Another week where we have the camera showing the Centerfielder when the ball is hit to RF

Johnson through 3 looks just great. Hitting the corners. They aren’t catching up to his fastball and off speed has them way off balance.

Time to give him a lead.

Hart with a bunt single to lead off the third. Make it a double.

Picked off leaving on first move.

Minder walks. 1 out, 1 on.

Yes he does. Hope he can get us a few more outs.

Hart picked off. Sheesh

We strand the runner. No score to the 4th. We have to score when we have a chance.

Bottom 4 in quickest moving game of the year.

Hart with a tremendous play on the first out.

Who is this guy in Johnson’s uniform?

2 runs should be enough to beat Houston.
They scored 3 runs in their 4 game series last weekend.

Top 5. Gasser dominating.

Johnson needs to keep matching him.

Gasser looks less effective in the stretch. The slider had less bite in the third inning.

Maybe it's just me, but their banter seems very Cougar-centric.
And maybe they are heavily steeped in Gasser-lore, but it irritates me the way they go on and on about how good Gasser is, never acknowledging that Johnson is doing every bit as well.

I guess I'm still missing Graff, who we all know was as neutral an announcer as you'll ever find. ;)

I just think that the home team deserves its own announcer.
