He was underused all season. Using him strictly in save situations has been awful management.

He’s a one inning pitcher. Second time through an order he just throws BP. He’s still better than the rest of them.

When’s the last time you saw him go through an order for a 2nd time? 2019? He’s a different pitcher now. Added almost 10 mph to his fastball since then

That’s my point. He’s actually been used correctly.

That’s not a good point, IMO. We have no idea if the current version of Gillies is bad the 2nd time through the order. Even before he added the velocity he did have one year(2018) where he was good working deep into games as a starter. Of course he was terrible as a starter in 2019

True. He’s only been in short use situations since his improvement.

Gillies can definitely go more than one inning. He's had a couple of 2-inning saves lately.

Nobody said he couldn’t.

Yeah. I misspoke on that Was thinking in terms of going through the opposing lineup, but as visual pointed out, we really haven’t seen him used in extended appearances since his improvement.

Watching this type of baseball just about every day is hard. Looks like JUCO pitching. After the first couple of guys, it is a crap shoot. Just a bad brand of baseball all the way around. No excuse at this level.

Englehard with two run HR. 7-5 in the 4th. If we can throw strikes, this game is over. Have to go out for a little bit. Just keep it going.
