Lowenbrau is an old brand. Kohl's used to have it on tap & O'Henry's had it for a spell in the late 80's early 90's. Nothing wrong with it then.

Never said anything was wrong with it, just I remember the commercials when I was a kid... Bartel and James comes to mind too

Kolb's, not Kohl's.

Ok, time for a forty year-old memory:
Schweggman.s beer was labeled “Krewes”. Certainly not to meant to be confused with “Coors”.
BC, I mean "Generic" beer, not private label... just said "BEER" on the white can... not sure if you remember the "generic" phase the U.S. went through during the early 80s? Canned goods that just said "Peas", "Corn", etc... they made "Beer" as well. Not sure there were bottles of "Wine" or not.
Oh yeah, Generic Beer!

I remember the “generic” era and I have a distinct memory of Generic Beer — at Mardi Gras in 1982, two friends of mine had plowed through their selection of Bud and Lowenbrau when they discovered all that was left in their ice chest was a six packo Generic Beer.

One friend grabs a can and pops the top, then proclaims, “Generic Beer from Time Saver
. Tastes shxtty, but it’s cheap”

Other friend: “Tastes shxtty!”

Friend: “It’s cheap!”

This, of course, was a play on the long-runningLite Beer from Miller commercials.
Speaking of the 80's.... Lowenbrau?....I remember the commercials.... never had it... will look for it next time I go to the liquor store
Lowenbrau tasted like swamp water... like someone took Miller High Life and left it in the sun for a week then chilled it back.

Trivia... what were the only 2 foods Ed discovered could not be consumed with Bartles and James?

The last time that I had it, that's exactly what I thought happened.

"Here's to good friends, tonight is kind of special, the beer we'll pour must be something more, so tonight . . . let it be Lowenbrau."

Hey, I'm so old, I can sing the Atlantic gasoline jingle.

Since they were made up names, I will offer Dragon eggs and Unicorn filets...

Bartles and James brings back bad high school memories I'm trying to suppress.
