Betty White dies at 99
Betty White dies at 99
18 days before her 100th birthday.
Not afraid to admit the Golden Girls have always been a guilty pleasure of mine. Sofia (Estelle Getty) was my favorite character.

I used to know an LSU fan who was always talking about The Golden Girls. Turns out he was talking about something else.
RIP.

I literally saw my Facebook wall plastered with interviews with her this past week, about what a treasure she was and how she lived to nearly 100...and a day later, she's gone. I thought it was a joke at first.
RIP.
RIP.

I'm blaming People magazine for jinxing her... big headline "Betty White Turns 100!" Issue came out last week before she passed.

Yeah, I think that's the one that led to all the stories I saw.Johnny Mac wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 1:13 pm I'm blaming People magazine for jinxing her... big headline "Betty White Turns 100!" Issue came out last week before she passed.
That headline, pardon the pun, didn't age well.

Typically I'd channel my inner Robert Altman and say the passing of a very old person is never a tragedy. But White was a mensch, and three weeks shy of 100 just seems cruel.
Golden Girls were fine. Her work on Mary Tyler Moore was EPIC however.

A giant in every way, while not being aggressively self-promoting. A fighter of racism before it was cool.

When you die less than a month before your hundredth birthday, and people are posting that you've "gone too soon," you know you had a good life.
