Hmm, maybe. Well I just purchased a few rain ponchos the other day. Always like to have those available during football season. And for 97¢ they are for me one use only items.

Looks like Saturday is OK relative to rain. Sunday might be wet.

Not to start an active and rancorous political debate, but the same people who cannot tell us where a hurricane is going in 5 days can tell us definitively what our climate will be in 12 years...

C’mon, AO, you know better. As an MD you know smoking is bad for the general population even though the patient in front of you might be a 2 pack a day geriatric.

Sure, it is apples and watermelons. But the point about the limitations of models we have created is valid. And I think that is the point AO is raising.

The most salient point in the thread is gerry's: this isn't political debate, it's scientific...and, to that point, there doesn't even seem to be much debate. AO's strawman (who is definitively saying what the climate will be in 12 years?) isn't really much of a point at all.

A lot of people. On social media. Where a lot of people think everything they read is gospel truth. Which is why so many people are full of so much anger and hatred.

As a physician we are taught that Correlation does not prove causation. I have seen numerous times where "everything we know is wrong," and treatments and associations were found to be contrary to the facts. When I was in high school, Time and Newsweek warned us that we were entering a "nuclear winter," because the experts all said that colder temperatures were expected. When the changes went against what said experts expected, the discussion changed 180 degrees, literally.

That was what I was trying to state.

I wasn't speaking of you, AO, I was speaking of the same folks of whom you were speaking. Those who think they know better... And now (as opposed to then), they all have a big pulpit and potentially a worldwide audience (if they yell loudly enough).

Maybe, if the depression drifts to the eastern edge of the probability zone, you might get some relief.

? According to my radar app, the rain is already just outside Cincinnati, with lots more behind it.

Yes, it's supposed to rain all weekend. Roller, that map is projected "eye" path. The rainfall swath is much larger.
