Nola has biggest roach population in the US

New Orleans seemed more of an alcohol city than a pot city but who knows these days. I just wish people would leave their roaches laying around. Litter is bad.

Will never forget Freshman year, this flying cokroach comes into the entrance of Richardson, I think, and this gal, probably from NY or Midwest, went running out of the building and was never seen again!

There was a column entitled "You know you're at home in New Orleans" that includes something to the extent that "you have discovered that those four-inch-cork sucker can fly, but have to decided to retain your sanity anyway."
Here is the list, for those of who weren't around when it appeared in the late 1970's; while someone says they wrote it in 1987, it was in one of the weeklies nearly a decade earlier (can't remember if it was Figaro or the other one)
