Likely that the Floridas International and Atlantic (and sort of Central until they also cancelled) are still playing their games because they have a rougher go at getting to six wins than their bigger school counterparts.

...Except for the part where FAU is playing Wisconsin, so maybe Kiffin's just a dick? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yes hindsight is :coolshades:

All the games scheduled originally scheduled to be played in Florida are now canceled and that is significant. Miami was not scheduled to be played in Florida so its not exactly the same because all these schools chose to sacrifice their own home games. Miami chose to sacrifice Arkansas State's home game. The players and coaches are no more safe with the game not being played. It just cost Arkansas State and the people of Jonesboro. It seems like it is not making the best of a tough situation.

None of our fans should be arguing that Miami's cancelling is not warranted.

One can speculate all day on secondary reasons for Miami doing this but primary one stands on its own.

These folks understandably need to take care of their families and the like. Football just ain't that important.

We simply have to trust that Miami and ASU will work something equitably out going forward.

Meanwhile that's why you buy business interruption insurance and the like. If ASU was running naked on this then so be it.

Both playing and not playing is 'warranted.' Consider the 2005 Tulane season. There were warranted reasons to play and not play.

Our decision to play the season to maintain some continuity in the name "Tulane" was totally different from this. Miami will need to decide whether to play the rest of their season if the campus is so decimated that they can't return there. That's a decision to be made after the hurricane passes. But playing a game away while the players' families and belongings are back there possibly in harm's way should not even be a decision. If Tulane had an away opener on August 24th, 2005, it should not and would not have been played.

Okay, off on a tangent here. It should bring a smile to your faces.

There is this couple who live in Seattle that are celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary. :-) Why am I mentioning it here? Their names are Harvey and Irma. He is 104 and she is 93. Congratulations!!!!!

I think we delayed our Aug 31 opener at USM and played that game in November (I think our final game)

After the game I went up to Matt Forte, thanked him for his effort and told him how proud I was of him.

I come here for all of my storm updates. It's amazing they can forecast a 90 degree turn (should happen soon I guess)

I read today that "confidence in the track forecast is high", even though it continues to move west.

Jose's winds actually stronger right now. 130 mph, Irma currently 120.

Jose is projected to go in circles in the middle of the Atlantic and not threaten anyone but fish. As for Irma, a street sign almost took out a CNN reporter in Miami, which is 130 miles away from the eye. Ft. Myers and Tampa and are going to die. Literally die.
