So did Tulane docs remove....
So did Tulane docs remove....
John Mayer's appedix or is he (now was?)at another local hospital? Someone must have leaked it somewhere.
Re: So did Tulane docs remove....
The only way that information can be legally released is if the patient allows it to be released. HIPPA means that if such information was let out by any physician, nurse, orderly, secretary, lab tech, scrub tech, x-ray tech, or the like, that person would very quickly lose their job, and they could find themselves under arrest for that.
The Feds and hospital administrators take this law very seriously.

What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?

But HIPPA doesn't stop paparazzi or even random folks with cellphones who happened to be by the ER doors when he arrived, wherever he arrived.
New Orleanians are pretty good at leaving celebrities alone, that may be the only reason there is less info available. Well, that, and Mayer isn't the A-Lister he was 10 to 15 years ago...

Mayer's publicity people made a brief announcement, since they had to cancel a concert over it.AO Sig wrote:The only way that information can be legally released is if the patient allows it to be released. That is the way that the information would get out. The paparazzi could get it if they were to see him walk in, but if they got details from someone in the facility, then those providing it would be in big trouble.GretnaGrn wrote:Mayer's publicity people made a brief announcement, since they had to cancel a concert over it.AO Sig wrote:The only way that information can be legally released is if the patient allows it to be released.
