Carnival 2018

Post by WaveProf »

Going to be an early (hopefully not cold?) one.

Joan d'Arc went well on January 6 with a bigger turnout than usual, followed by a King's Day fireworks display at the river funded by the tri-centennial council

Now things quiet down until Krewe du Vieux Jan 27

TUMB has put out their parade schedule:

Olympia (Covington) on Feb 3

D'etat on Feb 9

Bacchus on Feb 11

Rex on Feb 13

Massive rain predicted for Krewe du Vieux

Another huge cold snap for the middle weekend of parades (though that’s far enough off there’s still hope)

TUMB looked great. Full band is now up to seven tubas. Six is usually threshold for "big" brass sound. May it continue to grow and prosper.

Beautiful weather yesterday. Wavetot walked and danced all the way from the Bywater to the Irish Channel, and was still so full of energy that we had trouble getting him to bed at 915. I want one of whatever he's having.
