Simpsons New Orleans episode
After slamming the city back in the show's infancy in the early 90s (and subsequently apologizing via Bart on the chalkboard of the following episode's opening song), then doing a Mardi Gras visit in the late 90s, this past weekend they did another trip which was basically an homage to the food and music. Included was a montage of Homer eating his way through the city. See the full list here:

Bonus: if you dislike Gators, they opened with a couple of minutes of relentlessly slamming Gainesville...

The next time a newbie asks me where and what to eat in New Orleans, I’ll use that list!

New Or-le-ans,
Home of pirates, drunks, and wh0res,
New Or-le-ans,
Tacky overpriced souvenir stores.
If you want to go to He11, you should take a trip
To the Sodom and Gomorra on the Mississipi.
New Or-le-ans,
Stinky, rotten, vomiting, vile,
New Or-le-ans,
Putrid, brackish, maggoty, foul.
New Or-le-ans,
Crummy, lousy, rancid, and rank,
New Or-le-ans.
hence the reason for the apology

I hope you had to look that up and don't have it committed to memory almost 30 years later!Johnny Mac wrote:New Or-le-ans,

I remember watching that with my teammates in our Aron apartment (we had watching get-togethers on Thursday nights back in those days). We were all sorta shocked at how mean it was toward New Orleans (though with only one of us being a native we just laughed)... I also remember how a few weeks later after apparently some outcry (this was pre-internet so we didn't have a way to hear about it), the opening credits had Bart writing "I will not defame New Orleans" (just checked and this is described in the wiki story linked above).

I actually attempted it from the top of my head but couldn't remember what came after stinking rotten vomiting vile, so cut and pastePeteRasche wrote:I hope you had to look that up and don't have it committed to memory almost 30 years later!Johnny Mac wrote:New Or-le-ans,

Knowing they could have gotten a king cake if they wanted it, but I like the authenticity of “out of season”gerryb323 wrote:
