Muffy (it’s Connecticut), I thought our candles were white. Nevermind, hand me my lighter.

Yup, I wondered too but the article was sparse. And who keeps dynamite in their house? I hope ATF is all over this.

This is Bridgeport, trust me, no Muffy's there.

The story I read the other day said the dynamite had been left by the previous owner. So... Who in the heck buys a house and after the inspection says, "meh, just leave the dynamite, I might need it for something someday..."

The story I read also said she was in danger of losing some fingers and had severe burns on her face and maybe elsewhere. So I'm guessing it was old, possibly damp, and didn't fully explode. Otherwise there probably wouldn't have been much left of her, much less her hand.

Please tell me I'm not the only one here whose mind went straight to old Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry cartoons...

Oversight on my part. I lived in Colchester while stationed at the SUBASE. Colchester is Deliverance territory compared to some parts of the state. Then there’s Farmington, West Hartford and the Litchfield region. Bridgeport is in between.

People think Connecticut and think hedge funds and "Muffy" as you stated, but so much of the state is redneck. Big time redneck. But I'd put Bridgeport closer to lower Claiborne Ave....

Road Runner. I actually asked my folks when I was a kid if we could order stuff from the ACME company. In the MidAtlantic there are Acme supermarkets and it still makes me smile.
