I got hooked on all things Python during my JYA year in Manchester during the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Never saw anything like it before or since. The Souza theme song for the Flying Circus figures prominently in my playlist.

Please do not wire flowers. It would be unseemly if they were to arrive via FTD.

I remember meeting Graham Chapman when he made an appearance at Tulane. He started his presentation by asking the audience for a minute of abuse; at first they students did not know what to do! Once they got going he would acknowledge particularly good ones.

All of the "pythons" have been able to share a view of the world that is so unique; his contributions to MPFL will live on.

yesterday, I got into an "argument" with my daughter.. since it was with a 10 year old, it was a "no it isn't", "yes it is" for the most part.. .I said "this isn't an argument... and proceeded to stream for her the argument sketch

some of the brilliant subtleties of their humor is what made it hilarious...

Man: Oh look, this isn't an argument.
Mr. Vibrating: Yes it is.
Man: No it isn't. It's just contradiction.
Mr. Vibrating: No it isn't.
Man: It is!
Mr. Vibrating: It is not.
Man: Look, you just contradicted me.
Mr. Vibrating: I did not.
Man: Oh you did!!
Mr. Vibrating: No, no, no.
Man: You did just then.
Mr. Vibrating: Nonsense!
Man: Oh, this is futile!
Mr. Vibrating: No it isn't.
Man: I came here for a good argument.
Mr. Vibrating: No you didn't; no, you came here for an argument.
Man: An argument isn't just contradiction.
Mr. Vibrating: It can be.
Man: No it can't. An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
Mr. Vibrating: No it isn't.
Man: Yes it is! It's not just contradiction.
Mr. Vibrating: Look, if I argue with you, I must take up a contrary position.
Man: Yes, but that's not just saying 'No it isn't.'
Mr. Vibrating: Yes it is!
Man: No it isn't!
