Hurricane Eta just destroyed Nicaragua as a Cat4 and is reforming in the Caribbean, likely to cross Cuba and hit south Florida.

Curious question for the old timers here, what's the latest in the calendar year you recall a hurricane or tropical storm threatening or hitting New Orleans? I know the season is officially still going but I don't recall anything significant after Halloween since I've been paying attention (~31 years).

In case you were wondering, USF and Miami both have road games this weekend and UCF has an open week.
