Uptown Hotels ...

Unread post by sr »

besides the Hampton Inn on St Charles, are there any other 'recommended' hotels close to campus? I've always found the Hampton Inn great for when I visit for baseball at Turchin - but they're booked for the first weekend series. Any other suggestions? Never fond of the drive back to the quarter after a few pops at the ball park.
Thanks.

You might try the Hampton Inn in Elmwood. Pretty much a straight shot down Claiborne/Jeff Hwy or River Road.

Other options Uptown would be the Ramada (or what used to be a Ramada) at St. Charles/Jackson or the Best Western next to Superior Grill. The Columns Hotel aslo has rooms.

Who knew, right? I love this city.

There's also a bed and breakfast on St. Charles across from Gibson/next to Audubon, but I can't remember the name. And the Hotel Pontchartrain is somewhere in the Garden District too.[/i]

I think you mean the Parkview Guest House. It's convenient. That's about all you can say for that place.

The Ponchartrain is undergoing "renovations." But it's disconcertingly quiet.
