All the best for RG to make a roster! There are much worse jobs than a QB clipholder in the NFL.

Yup; just ask Jordan Jefferson, who's in town this week with the Pittsburgh Power ($5 tickets were available this week)....TUPF wrote:All the best for RG to make a roster! There are much worse jobs than a QB clipholder in the NFL.

Re: Ryan Griffin
cbssports.com has him rated at the 11th bet QB in the draft and going in the 6-7 round.
Saints don't have a 7th rounder and I don't they will use their 6th rounder on him.
If he becomes an UDFA; then, I certainly think he gets a call from Loomis.

Re: Ryan Griffin
Griffin's mother is a Cowboys fan so perhaps he lands in Dallas? Seriously?
That's all he needs - to be mentored by Romo!
You might actually do some real reporting and mention that his college coach was a Saints coach a year ago, which might provide a legit connection.

Re: Ryan Griffin
I hope you are right. He seems to be climbing the board a little. I worry because we've had several guys in recent years projected to be 6-7th rounders give or take and then they end up not getting picked. But then, none of them were QBs, so that may have an effect.GSx wrote:He'll be drafted in round 5 or 6.

The number of players projected to be 6-7th rounders is dramatically higher than the number of 6-7th round picks.tulaneoutlaw wrote:I hope you are right. He seems to be climbing the board a little. Re: Ryan Griffin
Yeah I know. Thus the concern over RGs chances. It's not that he isn't worthy, it's more of a numbers game. but i think GSx is right, he will pull through.ml wave wrote:The number of players projected to be 6-7th rounders is dramatically higher than the number of 6-7th round picks.tulaneoutlaw wrote:I hope you are right. Re: Ryan Griffin
If Griffin is drafted, will he be the first Toledo recruit to be drafted? I think he would be, but my usually stellar memory fails me on this one.

Where Will Ryan Griffin Land?
I notice he didn't get drafted. He's good enough to be on someone's roster.

Re: Ryan Griffin
It's a really good spot for him. He'll learn from the best and the Saints have room for him, to let him grow and improve.
Re: Where Will Ryan Griffin Land?
Obviously being a free agent is better than a late round draftee because the player can choose where he wishes to work but what about pay. Basic economics tells me that some free agents wanted by multiple teams should get "bid up" so that their comp exceeds that of late round draft slottees.
Does that happen or does NFL successfully enforce pay caps on undrafted free agents from college as well?
