Julius Warmsley

Post by waverider »

No real news but looks like he's making plays:
Julius Warmsley just bulldozed Jamil Douglas into Matt Moore for a sack. Who is this Warmsley dude?

Happened to see that play...put a good move on the guard and got to the QB quickly. Drew some good praise on both that play and his camp/other preseason games from Dungy and whoever else was announcing. Tulane was mentioned, for those into that sort of thing.

He would be a sure thing to make the team, if the Dolphins weren't so stacked along the DL. He is making it very hard for them to cut him though.

Dolphins just traded Chris McCain to the Saints. He's a DE / LB. Dolphins beat writer just tweeted Warmsley among 3 guys competing for 2 DL spots. One of the 3, Fede is hurt. Most think Warmsley makes the team.

He had a good game against the Falcons. I thought he was underrated among our DL, he is a disrupter. Hope he makes the 'Fins.

Let me just say Julius is a fantastic person. I interacted with him often while on campus and he was always friendly and wearing a smile. I remember him going out of his way to say hello whenever he saw me across campus. He was definitely not the type of football player who thought he was better than the average student just because he was an athlete. I hope he makes the squad and tears it up.

He has the skills, he doesn't have the head. He was kicked off the team at Cal. He tried to fight a South Florida radio host. If he ever got his head on straight, yes. In his first game of his career, he blocked a punt and had a strip sack of Brady.

This is from the Miami Herald after the Dolphins' last preseason game last night
• Vance Joseph has suggested Miami will keep nine defensive linemen, and it would be ideal to keep five ends and four tackles.

But here's the problem: The two players who seem most deserving of the 8th and 9th jobs are both tackles -- Julius Warmsley and Chris Jones. That would give Miami nine tackles. Warmley used to be an end but said he has played only tackle for Miami.

Terrence Fede, nursing an sprained MCL, would be an option as a fifth defensive end should the Dolphins go in that direction. Fede also can play tackle but it's unclear when he will be healthy.
