Tulane 82, USF 67
Kain Harris with 27 points. CMD's first conference win comes on the road.
USF couldn't hit the ocean from the beach when it counted... about time that happened to the other guy.

4-0 vs schools with South in their name!!!
Harris was terrific and has really improved from last year.

I saw a complete game on both ends. Still missed too many free throws. Great hustle. Good win on the road. Enjoyable watching.

Another school with South in their name coming up.

Well, 6 misses is too many. When you coach you coach for every one made. Down the end they were pretty good, but in the middle of the game too many misses ---Donny Z wrote:We were 23-29 from the line for 79.3%sr wrote:I saw a complete game on both ends. Tulane shot 47%. End of story.

South Cincinnati is Kentucky. I don't want to play them.Roller wrote:And after SMU, we get Southern Tulsa and South Cincinnati.waverider wrote:That would be the biggest one.doc wrote:Another school with South in their name coming up.

REALLY glad to see this. BIG CONGRATULATIONS !!
Re: Tulane 82, USF 67
Funny when Tulane loses - the posts come flowing in (mine included), but with a good win with solid play - crickets. Just MHO.

Not if they move the game to U.S. Bank Arena. (We could enlist Pete toFW wrote:South Cincinnati is Kentucky. I was doing updates on the scoreboard.
There were two or three others who chimed in.

Exactly, when I signed on noticed there were no new posts on the Scoreboard, so came here instead. I shouldn't follow the crowd...BC Wave wrote:I was doing updates on the scoreboard.

I wouldn't mind a rematch at NKU. We lost to them at home their first year as a D1 school:-(FW wrote:South Cincinnati is Kentucky. Excellent win. Didn't realize the game was on tonight and just saw score. Really excited we can maybe turn this thing around a little and win some conference games.

This season has a ways to go to escape nightmare status but thank God we broke the ice in league play. Thank you Kain Harris.

I actually tuned in to the game on ESPN3 at halftime against my better judgment and was pleasantly surprised that it was a one point game. I then had to watch the second half, and we played pretty darn good. I think I'm going to go see this team Sunday....

Not just your HO, just human nature and the way this forum and every other forum are. Don't take it to mean we're worse people than the rest of society.sr wrote:Funny when Tulane loses - the posts come flowing in (mine included), but with a good win with solid play - crickets. Just MHO.
(at least on average )
Meanwhile, don't take this as necessarily a turnaround or breakthrough. USF is bad. We beat them several times in the Conroy era.
Re: Tulane 82, USF 67
Separate question: maybe I missed why but Von Julien has not played the last two games after usually playing 10 minutes or so a game (occasionally more) for most of the season. Injury/illness? Anything up?

Re: Tulane 82, USF 67
I just saw the game recap on my score app, presumably the AP story, and it refers to Tulane as being 1-3 in the Patriot League.
Re: Tulane 82, USF 67
I saw the second half. Our zone offense was much better than what I saw a few games ago. We reversed the ball well and got nice looks. We also got the ball into Reynold at high post and he was able to make some things happen from there.
Harris is just fun to watch. He comes off the bus shooting. His shot is pretty and he can finish at the rim. He even rebounded some last night. I think he was 10-11 from FT line.
Our defense still makes me cringe. USF beat us off the dribble a lot and got into the paint. Fortunately they had a hard time finishing or the result might have been different.
When was the last time we had a guy come off the bench and score 27?

Blake Paul played very well too. His body control and catching the ball skills are improving quite a bit.
