Apparently his pitching in the final qualifier was the reason they made it to the WBC

Israel eliminated in second round, but Zeid pitched 10 innings, no earned runs, 10 Ks, 1 win, 2 saves.

Zeid had a great tourney. MLB announcing teams repeatedly referred to him and others in WBC using this to raise their profile to (re-)launch/invigorate future major league prospects.

Outside of USA, I'm now pulling for Netherlands in WBC. Anarchy in tournaments always enhances this viewer's fun. I'm sure someone will help me in NCAAs starting today too.
