I'm certainly not close enough to the Program to have any "inside" information, but it appears to me that WF and Staff felt that recruiting the kinds of under-recruited kids that he was getting at his previous place was sufficient talent to succeed with in the AAC. It only took one year to open some eyes.

but the past is literally that, I really like the direction recruiting has taken and I hope we can reel some of these kids in.

Rummel 4* WR Ja'Marr Chase picked up his 32nd offer (Georgia) And as you probably guessed, he's blessed.

we had two out of state QB's in over the weekend. One is Jalen Chatman of Harbor City, CA, the other is Aaron Allen of Missouri City, TX.

Chatman: http://247sports.com/Player/Jalen-Chatman-87506

Allen: http://247sports.com/Player/Aaron-Allen-46036828

We've offered both according to the internet, with Allen's offer coming just this weekend. Chatman has great stats and might be an early enrollee; Allen has better offers as of now. We also had a good DL in for a visit, Marlon Young of Opelousas. Young is a DE who will probably grow into a tackle over time. I'm sure that these three were part of a larger group of visitors.

GSx has been arguing for awhile now that we should recruit CA more heavily. Lots of Div.1A talent over there, especially at the Skill Positions

I was wrong about Chatman's visit. He will come in this week.

Well actually at one point it was, but more to the point they want to recruit here we should go up there especially in January and February

Takeaway: not enough good FB recruits in Midwest, Midwest teams therefore have to recruit in talent-rich LA.

Exactly it, definitely has nothing to do with academics

The coaches had another good local DB prospect in for a visit today. Shawn Preston of St James.

Oh, Northwestern can't find enough academically qualified good FB recruits in the Midwest. Hadn't even thought of that angle.

They have a different bar (or at least in the past they did)

The NCAA has given final approval to an early signing date for football. This early period will start Dec. 20th. Basically, it means HS kids can sign when JC's do. There will still be a February NSD.

It may have been a pic of both coaches originally but was cropped and lazily left captioned. At least they got Fritz's name right!

Unfortunately if you don't follow recruiting, it's just a list of names and means nothing. There is no information on the players (in terms of "level") whatsoever. I have no clue if there's even anyone on the list worth being excited about.

I'm sure we could get a pretty good analysis from LG, Charlamange, and a couple others.

Sure, it was more a commentary on the "quality" of the story.
