Why is the game only in the 6th? Rain? We took a 4-5 mile walk between 5 and 7 in the Channel and only encountered one short sprinkle.

I presume lightning. First pitch came between 8:30 and 9:00 CDT.

3-1. Bottom 7. Merrill strikes out side in what could be final home inning for him. 112 gutsy pitches.

Sal Gozzo with bad bunt and they get lead runner. Would have loved to have seen Montalbano hit there and go to Hoese for 8th. Paul Gozzo with another hit. Gozzo's at the corners. 1 down.

Strand both runners. 3-1 to the 8th. Merrill back out for the 8th at 112 pitches. Error Sal Gozzo on bad throw.

3-2. Runners on the corners. Damn error by goozo.

Pulling Merrill who gets hugs from all his teammates. Thanks Merrill! Final effort at home is gutsiest performance you will ever see. Solesky in.

Gozzo's error scores.

Merrill has 11 Ks. Pulled for Solesky. A hundred and a bunch (132) pitches. Big ovation for Merrill as he leave the Turchin mound for the last time (unless we manage to find a way to host a playoff game).

Solesky walks the bases loaded on 5 pitches.

Colletti gets a call.

Solesky walks the first batter. Loaded with 2 out. Why does Gozzo play over Hoese late in game? Seems like he has an error in the 8th every week.

Colletti gives up a 2-run single, and we are now behind, thanks to Gozzo's inning-starting error.

I said it when it happened. Montalbano should have pinch hit for Gozzo and gone to Hoese

Why go to Solesky for 1 guy? His walk is the leading run. Should have just gone to Colletti.

I guess Montalbano is not in his plans. Dehart vs lefty.

Brown never takes the bat off his shoulders which takes us to the 9th.

UH 4-9-0
TUL 3-7-1

And Brown gets tossed--so he is unavailable for tomorrow.

Guess that's one way to end your time at TU ... miss a game. Is graduation tomorrow - maybe he can walk?

3 run homer. 7-3. We lost this in the 8th. No bullpen and Jewett seems to always push the wrong button.

Bunt base hit, walk and hit batter for Izza.
