Tulanians with Super Bowl rings

Post by Rotorooter »

Guys on an active SB roster:

1. Max McGee - Packers '68
2. Eddie Murray - Cowboys '93
3. Shaun King - Bucs '02
4. Mewelde Moore - Steelers '07

Are there any that I am missing?

What about Taurean Nixon as well? He was the practice squad.

ON THE ACTIVE ROSTER. Doss may have been, though not sure. Nixon I doubt.

Does Curtis Johnson count? Here's a pic of his ring which I borrowed for a finger selfie.

I was about to blast everyone for missing the obvious - Lionel Washington - but I missed the fact that he started with the Cardinals and thus missed the Silver & Black's SB years.

Steve Foley.
He was a starter in Super Bowl XII against the Dallas Cowboys and played in Super Bowl XXI (his final game) against the New York Giants.

So the full list as we know it should be:

1. Max McGee - Packers '68
2. Warren Bankston - Raiders '77
3. Eddie Murray - Cowboys '93
4. Shaun King - Bucs '02
5. Mewelde Moore - Steelers '07
6. Lorenzo Doss - Broncos '16
7. Taurean Nixon - Broncos '16

Here's the full list of Tulane players in the NFL. If somebody gets bored they could check and see if there's a more obscure player/situation we missed.

Thought of him, but didn't feel the urge to count him.

Was Ruffin Hamilton on the Packers when they won in the Dome in the 90s?

A quick search of the 1996 Packers roster doesn't show Ruffin Hamilton as on the team.

Max McGee caught the first ever TD pass in a Super Bowl. That fact gets brought up nationally sometimes during weeks leading up to Super Bowls.

Usually immediately followed by the claim that he did it hungover.

If that fact doesn't make him a true Tulanian, I don't know what else does.
