One America Appeal

Post by TUPF »

No matter what your politics, it was pretty cool just now seeing all five living former presidents in an ad during the Fox NFL game.

I mostly just noticed how much most of them have aged

That too. W looked chipper. HW not so much, but then, he's no spring chicken.

W and Obama both looked good, and young to be honest.

There is a BIG jump from them to the other three however. Carter and HW have the "no spring chicken" argument to excuse them. Clinton just looks plain bad.

It's stressful to run for President 3.5 times!

Kidding aside, I wonder if any of his health problems are resurfacing. His voice was raspier than I remember.

Jimmy seems to be the Energizer Bunny despite beating the recent health problems.

HW looks like it'll be any day now.

Heard Clinton speak in NY earlier this year. He had little charisma and was very raspy. Despite losing all the weight and the healthy diet, he doesn't seem to be doing so hot.

Bubba should go back to eating Big Macs. Carter kicked this sh it out of brain cancer. He may never die. HW doesn't look good, but I don't think Barbara will let him die.

"recent health problems???" the dude BEAT cancer at the age of 90!!!!

I was never a Carter fan as president, but he's a solid individual... I hope others can use his cancer survival as inspiration and they can utilize the combination of treatment they used on him to save even more

I think he's hands down the best EX-president we've ever had. Just an outstanding human being in every way.

Who DOESN'T think that? My friends on both sides of the political aisle always seem to agree on that. His presidency may be divisive, but I think he's reached a point where "he" isn't.

Divisive is not the word that comes to mind.

if you weren't trying to make a living, save some money for the future or try and raise a family during that time its hard to make anyone comprehend how terrible a President Carter was. Not terrible as in a crook, or evil or wanting to purposely do harm, but terrible as in incompetent. I also don't think he is our best ex-President. Not by a long shot.

and that will be my only even remotely political opinion. :-)

I think Carter is easily the best ex-President we've ever had. He had good intentions, but was way in over his head as President, and tried to micro-manage everything, which also made him suck more.

I was reading FW's post and that thought came into mind... and then I see your post and you covered it for me.
