leave it to Guerry Smith to blurt out a stat (first road favorite of double digits in 14 years) and not follow it up with the facts of that statement

does anyone know off hand WHOM we were favored against in 2003 and did we cover or even win? ULaLa? SMU? Army (who actually beat us?)

He said it on the wave report....maybe editing issue with the paper again? Or, he just does this on purpose to get your goat. Sorry, I can't share the premium information with you. JK, he said it was Army.

We were coming of the Hawaii Bowl win. Army has given us trouble almost every year we've played them. In '97 or '98 I remember struggling at Army.

FIU isn't going to "army" us. Not because we're so incredibly good, but because Willie Fritz is our coach now. Even if FIU made some big plays and hung around, Fritz will adjust and outcoach them. That (in-game adjusting) wasn't happening in 2003. Or 2004,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15.

If we only score 18 on FIU something is seriously wrong. Their defense is not good.

He does say to take FIU and the points so he thinks we'll win by less than 14.

Yes, that score would work also. I look for a win here, but it will be a sloppy, UGLY WIN (and 'on the road').

I just do not think that Tulane will be a the top of their game for this one. Trailing 17-12, Hilliard or Badie score with a minute and something left in the game to pull it out. Two-point attempt is missed. Defense has to win it at the end. Nickerson picks one off to seal the deal. WHEW!!!

Rain would favor us significantly. Our running game should dominate them and the only way they stay relatively close is if they are able to burn us with deep passes, which rain would minimize.

And I can't imagine FIU's O line will be as big or as physical as Tulsa.
