Re: Week VIII (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
So... We crushed Tulsa, Tulsa crushed Houston, and now Houston is favored over a hot, top 25 team? Wow, okay.WaveProf wrote:Thursday October 19

Was thinking the same thing. That and Tulsa only being favored by 6 over UConn.PeteRasche wrote:So... We crushed Tulsa, Tulsa crushed Houston, and now Houston is favored over a hot, top 25 team? Wow, okay.WaveProf wrote:Thursday October 19

The sec uses this type of logic to claim dominance.

Memphis scores 42(!) in the 2nd half and wins. I can't wait to never have to face Riley Ferguson again.

In the first half I thought to myself that a Memphis comeback would be a benefit to us. Id rather face them after an emotional comeback win than after a disappointing loss.1309th WAVE wrote:Memphis scores 42(!) in the 2nd half and wins. I can't wait to never have to face Riley Ferguson again.
I agree about Ferguson.

Re: Week VIII (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
interesting slate, as usual. Tulsa-UConn could be a sneaky fun game, Temple and their new coach need a win after last week but Army is at home, UCF-Navy should be a blast, SMU and Morris need to get back on track, and someone has to win between BYU and ECU.WaveProf wrote: Tulsa at UConn (11, ESPNU, TU by 6)

#16 South Florida at Tulane (6, ESPN2, USF by 12)
BYU at ECU (6, CBSSN, BYU by 5.5)

There are a million adjectives I could pick for a Tulsa-UConn football game and "fun" would not cross my mind.long green wrote:Tulsa-UConn could be a sneaky fun game

Re: Week VIII (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
How in the world did Tulsa crush Houston last week, amidst the train wreck their season has been?
Re: Week VIII (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
Short week away games, match-ups and motivating players. Speaking of which how many times over the last decade has Alabama played a short week away game. It's amazing how well prepared you can be when you play most of your games at home never on a short week and have the budget to have a dozen analyst break down other teams for you.waverider wrote:In the first half I thought to myself that a Memphis comeback would be a benefit to us. UCF wins. We now control our own destiny for the West. And if USF wins the east, we control our own destiny for hosting championship game.

Re: Week VIII (Schedule, Discussion, Scores)
SMU wins in overtime at Cincinnati after converting a 4th and 27 in the waning moments of regulation that led to the game-tying FG. Cincinnati's defense is baaaaad. Of course, so is FIU's, so we shouldn't count those chickens. But more than anything, this result shows me SMU is on the "beatable" list for sure.
