Congrats to Baker Dunleavy on win no. 1

Post by randymc »

Baker Dunleavy -- one of Mike's son and an ex-Villanova asst. coach -- notched his first win as a head coach as Quinnipiac beat Dartmouth in men's hoops by 1 point Saturday.
Congrats Baker keep it up and we might see you on the Tulane campus one day.

Literally in my backyard (Ok, the entrance to the arena parking area is maybe 2 miles from my house). Will have to go check them out.

Yeah, but they have built up quite a sports complex for non-football Div 1. They have a dual pod hoops and hockey arena that is top notch - each seating about 5,000, and their hockey team, of course, is nationally ranked most years (struggling so far this year). They just finished building new soccer and lacrosse fields nestled in the base of Sleeping Giant and they have talked starting football but I think are rebuffed by NIMBYs who don't want a stadium and there are only high school stadiums around otherwise (Rentschler Field is 25 miles away, so they'd drive further than UConn does to play there!).

Otherwise similar to Tulane in programs, tuition, and the fact they draw quite a bit from the NYC/NJ area.
