LSU is predicted to finish last in the SEC by several services.

Dude.. we lost to Texas State, McNeese and UNO last year... beating the teams we are supposed to beat is actually an improvement over last season.

Boy, you aren't kidding. I've seen enough bad basketball over the last several years to last me a lifetime. Just seeing us play competent, fun to watch basketball while we beat teams we should be beating is a pleasure. No one here is predicting a conference championship but can we at least let ourselves enjoy this moment? Lord knows they'll be challenges ahead of us that we'll cross soon enough.

Good to be 2-0; it's the kind of win coaches love. You win--comfortably--but there's plenty of stuff to *ahem* "emphasize" in practice and film study. Clearly, we've made progress. Just as clearly, there's more progress to be made. We'll learn more against Colorado State.

Totally agree here. It's great to win a game while not playing great. In 1991-1992 when we started out 13-0, there was rarely a game where we left the court joyful and celebratory. It's nice to be good enough to win those games and work on improving things while not accruing L's. Something our teams of the last decade never got to experience.

I was looking at Colorado State’s schedule and they are playing Winthrop on campus tonight as part of the Jamaican tournament plus two games this weekend whereas we are only playing the two this weekend.

CSU beat Winthrop to move to 2-0. Their 6'11" center went for 11 points and 20 rebounds (after grabbing 15 boards in their first game). We will need to do a better job of rebounding. Hopefully our conditioning will be a factor and we can wear them down.

Paul and Sehic are both pretty solid (physically) hopefully their Center is the tall rail thin type that we can beat around and eventually wear out. Thankfully we do have an outside game this year so we don't have to win with just an inside game but I worry that this guy, if legit, will take away those devastating drives to the basket by Frazier.

Listed at 240 lbs. so he's not a rail.

I also realized after I posted above that we're probably not going to outcondition them because they are coming from a mile high and we're coming from probably the same elevation as the court in Jamaica. But it could explain how they beat Winthrop (played in Fort Collins), so maybe they aren't that good...

at 6'-11" and 240 lbs. he's no rail, more like a solid block of wood. Well then, we play 3 Centers (Sehic, Paul and the Sudanese kid) so the strategy should be to wear him down with numbers and/or get him in foul trouble.

We've got two of them!

I think you're right. He looks like he's playing with confidence and he's making his shots.

If Frazier turns into a solid to good outside shooter...yikes.

There are a few pictures online of the team practicing in Montego Bay, and I don't see our S. Sudanese guys in any of them . . .

Remember, neither one of them went to Spain during the summer. If they aren’t in Jamaica, is there some international traveling ban that may prohibit them from leaving the country? I have no idea, just asking (hopefully they are in Jamaica).
