The big USF/UCF showdown this afternoon. I still think UCF wins handily. USF's schedule has been the cupcakiest since, I dunno, Tulane 1998? :jerry:
Arguably the best teams they've played the whole year are us and Houston, and we nearly won and Houston did.
(not to gloat but some here once thought both teams, if undefeated, would be top 10 at this point and playing for a playoff spot... Yeah, right... UCF has no path... )

I'll be attending the enthralling UConn/UC game. My first UC football game ever. Free tailgate, tickets, and drinks once inside, I couldn't say no. 8) Hopefully my hosts don't get offended when I spend most of the game glued to the WatchESPN app on my phone. They better have a good cell signal in the stadium.

Thanks for doing that Pete. I think prof said he was going to be out of the country for 2 weeks.

Houston beats Navy 26-14. Navy falls to 6-5, Houston moves to 7-4.

UCF raising the bar in the ongoing uniform competition with something I've never seen done: each player's helmet logo has an action photo of the player inside the logo, and the front of the helmet has the player's hometown area code just above the facemask. I hope they bought their equipment managers a nice holiday present for pulling that off.

Watching that game made me realize how much quicker and athletic these top tier AAC teams are than us. They just play the game at a faster pace.

Really? What I see is a UCF being so locked in on offense that they look faster than they are. Give them a Major Applewhite to replace Frost & you'll wonder where their athletes went.

Heck of a game, UCF by 1 with six and a half left.

I have not seen UCF all year, only their results, so my assumption they'd blow out USF was off base. I don't think USF is that great, maybe UCF isn't that much better. Makes me think Tulane isn't THAT far behind the chase.

UCF went up by a TD, but USF came back to tie it at 42, with under 2 minutes to go. UCF got a 95-yd return on the ensuing kickoff, so they now lead 49-42 at the 1:20 mark.

Are you kidding? What an ending. And it's not even over.

Mike Hughes, UCFs kick returner, is way faster than anyone Tulane has. Holy cow.

Wild final 3 minutes. USF didn't just tie it up, they hit an 80+ yard TD and then a 2 point conversion. And just when they stole the momentum out of the stadium, UCF returns the kick, then gets a great punch out fumble recovery.

UCF is the first team in FBS ever to go from winless to undefeated in two years.

Wear Tulane gear (assuming you succeeded in getting a tall-size article).

Tulane game won't be on the watchespn app b/c it's being handled by cbssports which is currently not being broadcast by DISH (my provider) in a contract dispute.

but, I guess you can watch the UF/FSU game if you wanna watch the app for some reason.

No, I can't. It's so limited to what providers carry it and I'm not signing up for Hulu just to watch a game that I might not be able to actually watch because I'm relying on reception in a stadium where I've never been.

Keep the attom board going and I'll be following between that and the score tracker. And drinking free beer.

On another blown kick by the opponent.

Cincinnati scores to take a 7 point lead with under 2 minutes left. UConn drives the field and faces 4th down with seconds remaining from the 15. They throw to the end zone with no time left, incomplete, but get a (correct) pass interference call. So they get one more play from the 5 with the clock off. QB rolls right and connects for a touchdown. The receiver stands over the defender and taunts him right in front of the ref... who calls the 15 yard personal foul to be assessed on the PAT.

And UConn missed the (longer) Pat, on a sideways spinning kick not unlike our homecoming one. UC wins 22-21.
