MBB vs SMU

Post by RI WAVE »

So we have some stiff competition and the Jekyll and Hyde Wave may show up and thrill us again after the last dreadful game. Assuming we still have power this evening, I will be there in spirit! What sort of turnout do you expect at Devlin? Are the students back? Any Buzz on campus??

The students aren't back but that didn't keep us from getting a good turnout against Temple. I think we'll get a decent crowd but not as good as the Tulsa game between the weather and the later start plus the luster being taken off by the Tulsa performance.

he meant Tulsa, which had a very good crowd for a game during break.

during one of the early tv timeouts, there was a line for tickets stretching back to Freret st.

Glad they are getting more support. Have to believe MD will be working on attacking the Zone! Hope they continue to be competitive rather than flat. Love to see us gaining relevance again.

Yes I meant Tulsa .My mistake. Guess I was trying to hold onto those good feelings from the Temple game.

Nugget of the day, Tulane is 1-4 on Sunday and 9-0 on all other days. Today is Thursday.

Of course we have played our best opponents on Sunday so it is probably meaningless.

Super win! Daniels will be a helluva player and Frazier came to play. Bring it every game like that!

Great win. Down 12, we went on a 20-6 run to go up by 6. Held on at the end.

Gutsy, gusty effort. We looked lost against their 3/4 court press early and against the match up zone late but just hung in there. Frazier was huge late and Cam kept us in it.

Sehic needs to play more. We are just better offensively with him on the floor.

Daniels will be the 3rd best player on the team by year's end. He's not far off now.

Super win, this has to be the biggest home win in the post-Clark era.

Super win and great effort down the stretch. Foul shooting was great except for Reynolds first shot at the end.

I think we found something posting Reynolds and Ona-Embo. We were able to get some easy baskets and open 3s off the double team. We didn’t have that in the first half.

Next two games are at Memphis and home to UCONN. Scary to say that we could be favored in both.

RPI back up to 84.

When we went small in the second half, the game changed. More scoring opportunities and more speed. Everyone played well. Daniels is special. And Cam carried us. When Frazier took it to the basket, he was terrific. Just a tremendous win. SMU is a really good team. When SMU went zone, there was more movement tonight. Great job MD.

so, I think we have a team to watch that will excite us all year long. Unbelievable free throw shooting! They had issues the first half but their confidence should be growing each time they knock off someone as competitive as SMU! Gotta luv the ball movement 2nd half, getting it in the paint. Kicking it out! They had a tough year last year, now they are showing that with a great coach and true talent on the court, they will make some noise in 2018. Hope the fans start to show up and make it a tough place to play for all of our opponents the rest of the year! this Team deserves our support! They play with heart and determination! gotta luv MD's dedication to the game and he is having fun along with our Team! Roll Wave!

This game and Temple shows we'll fun to watch rest of conference play. Don't know if we'll consistently keep it up (see Tulsa) but if we do we'll definitely make noise and see how far we can carry it. At this point NIT would be fantastic and if we can carry it further it'll be special.

Tulane shot 59 percent from the field in second half, plus 6 of 12 on 3's last 20 minutes; and for the game the Wave was 18 of 20 on FTs. Lit up Devlin Fieldhouse tonight; crowd was raucous supporting the Wave. Great home win!

We couldn't be there tonight live. Local turnout seemed pretty solid from TV. Can anyone who made it confirm?

Students showed up for the Alcorn game in December. UConn could be really fun (they're not as good as Tulsa but still probably carries enough juice with their name for most fans).

Crowd size was good considering there were no students, it was cold, and the game started late. Attendance seems to be growing slowly. It was fortunate the Zumba show at half time didn't empty the place out. SMU beat Arizona earlier this season.
