Great read. The more I know about MD, the more I like him. We will be in the NCAA tournament again - and soon. When that happens, recruiting will hit another level. His basketball background is unreal and he obviously still has the fire to teach and to win. Has there ever been a coach in Tulane history in any sport with this man’s resume? I cannot think of one.

Said it before and will say it again, I just like that he's not beholden to the "old boy's club" rules of college coaching. College coaches usually talk in 100% coachspeak in interviews because they don't want to offend colleagues and maybe risk losing future jobs. MD doesn't give a flip, this job is his final stop and he's just honest - and confident. I love that he directly says, to any interviewer who will listen, "nobody else has more connections to get you to the NBA than I do". And around about 98% of college coaches, it's truth.
I also love his take on what he tells recruits. Smart.
