Just can't seem to get any sustained momentum.
Re: 13-20
I am beginning to wonder if baseball will compile 40 (yes, I said .. forty) losses this year. This is the worst W-L record for this program EVER.

They'd have to lose almost every game left to do that. Pretty ambitious.

Proportionally, that’s 10,000 program loss Phillies territory!IM42lane wrote:I am beginning to wonder if baseball will compile 40 (yes, I said .. forty) losses this year. This is the worst W-L record for this program EVER.

We have one reliable starter on the pitching staff and an inconsistent offense.Wavefam985 wrote:Just can't seem to get any sustained momentum.

Wait, you mean they haven't been tanking all this time?
Re: 13-20
As bizzare as this may sound, I feel like something has been stolen from me. For the last 20+ years I have enjoyed spending a big part of my Spring weekends at Turchin and listening to all games on the radio. I planned other things around baseball games. I have always counted down from the end of the college football season to the start of baseball. I did so this year. I thought we'd be at least a .500 team, but we are far from it.

They did give out the phone number tonight and last week for sure. Graf said that they were taking calls and questions from Twitter. Neither of those things ended up happening though.Wavemania wrote:They aren't taking calls. Don't think I heard TG give out the phone # one time to call in. I don’t think they did give out the number during the 1st show.

Re: 13-20
Who's listening to the shows anyways?
And even if there was an invitation to call, there's not any legitimate question to ask and we're not going to get any satisfactory answers.
I'm with Wavery. This spring has been out of sorts at Chateau Hullabaloo. We used to plan on attending some of the away games, plan spring activities around home games, tailgating.
There's a double whammy of Coach Jewett's disjointed relationship with the fans, coupled with the record being what it is makes for some very sad times in Greenwave Nation.
As a woman fan, I lament getting to know our Coach's family like we got to know the Brockhoffs, Joneses, and Pierces. Gina and Susan used to come by our tailgate. Susan donated to the Greenie Gals tea even after having left for Texas.
For whatever reason, this whole situation is not gelling and this is some kind of sad.

Re: 13-20
I feel like this is spot on and exactly why many fans are frustrated. I miss being excited about Tulane baseball, following the polls to see where we’re ranked, trying to predict what regional we’ll play in. Obviously those days are gone, but maybe they will come back some day. Right now I would settle for any kind of progress.Wavery wrote:As bizzare as this may sound, I feel like something has been stolen from me. Re: 13-20
Wavery, you said it.
As many on this post knows, I did nothing but TU baseball. I do not fish, hunt, bowl, golf, drink, gamble, don't do football, don't do basketball or any other TU sport. All I did was wait for TU baseball and I never missed a local game either at TU or UNO. That's gone now.
Since 1997 I have been a season ticket holder for baseball and when I would get the bill to pay for my season tickets, I actually enjoyed (or at least did not mind) paying that bill. When the TU baseball seasons were over, I was already waiting for the next season. I would follow the forum on recruits and even go to Kirsch Rooney to see some of the local recruits. I would watch what TU current players were doing during summer leagues. I would go to TU fall ball and spring ball in anticipation of the upcoming season. The wife new (and respected) that all I did was TU baseball, and now she is very surprised to see that the enjoyment I once had for TU baseball is no longer there. I too thought we would be much better.
That's all gone now and it is very depressing.
Will I renew my season tickets, who knows?

Re: 13-20
ditto; i was not confident but hopeful (thinking things couldn't be as bad as last year with Jewett in year 2) early in the year; I looked for hopeful signs (Witherspoon is a stud; Bedgood shows potential). But this team has no power, little or no speed and exhibits sloppy fundamentals way too often. I won't be going to the UNO game tonight; I will be there for Houston this weekend. But these games are on a sliding scale from boring to painful. Don't need much more of this.
